These are a few illustrations I've made for one of my girlfriend's scientific papers. I've modeled stylized representations of the molecules and biological structures, made renders with Cycles and annotated them in Inkscape.

The Image above shows the mechanism of action of a cancer treatment, chemotherapy agent.

The Image below represents the type of neurons composing the retina. I modeled each of the types of cells, duplicated and deformed them along curves.

Retinal rod cell biochemical mechanics. I made separate renders of the different structures and composited and annotated them in Inkscape.

I don't remember what the diagram below represents, but it was really fun to make. My girlfriend finds this one really adorable.
